Most tool sites answer this question by pretending it isn't being asked. Here's the straight version: what you can and can't lock on Aerodrome today, why "Aerodrome lock" means two completely different things, and how to plan a launch around it.
Can you lock Aerodrome LP tokens with Team Finance?
No — Team Finance does not currently support locking Aerodrome LP positions on Base. We'd rather say that in the first sentence than have you discover it after seeding a pool. Team Finance locks Uniswap v2-style pairs and Uniswap v3 positions on Base (how that works); Aerodrome's vAMM pools and SlipStream concentrated-liquidity positions are not supported today. If Aerodrome LP locking ships, this page will say so prominently — check the date stamp at the bottom for currency.
Why do people confuse "Aerodrome lock" with veAERO?
Because Aerodrome has a built-in locking mechanism that has nothing to do with protecting your token's holders: veAERO, where users lock AERO (the protocol's own token) to gain voting power over emissions. Searching "Aerodrome lock" surfaces both meanings interchangeably, and they solve opposite problems. veAERO locking is something you do with Aerodrome's token to participate in its governance economy. An LP lock is something you do to your own pool so your buyers can verify the liquidity can't be pulled. If you're a project founder asking whether your community can trust your pool, veAERO is irrelevant to you — what you need is a third-party lock on your LP position, which is exactly the thing Aerodrome doesn't provide natively and Team Finance doesn't cover on Aerodrome today.
Who can lock Aerodrome LPs?
UNCX Network documents Aerodrome LP lock support, and AeroLock exists as an Aerodrome-specific locker — with very different levels of verifiability. UNCX is a credible, audited locker; its Aerodrome-capable v2 locker charges 0.1 ETH plus 1% of the locked LP tokens (per its official fee docs, as of August 2026) — run that percentage against your pool size before committing. AeroLock (aerolock.app) is live but publishes no documentation, no fee schedule, and no audits that we could find; we can't tell you what it costs or how it's secured, which is itself the answer for a launch whose entire point is verifiability. The full landscape is in Base lockers compared.
What should you do if you haven't seeded liquidity yet?
Seed on Uniswap instead — it's the decision that keeps every option open, and it costs you little on Base. A Uniswap v2-style pair or full-range v3 position gets you flat-fee ($150) locking with Team Finance, the most legible lock pages in the industry, and a pool type every screener and buyer knows how to verify. Aerodrome is an excellent liquidity venue — it's central to Base DeFi for incentives and volume — but for a token launch whose credibility depends on a lock, the pool's lockability outranks its emissions program. Many projects do both eventually: launch and lock on Uniswap, then add Aerodrome liquidity later once the token has standing. The sequencing logic is covered in the launch stack.
What if your liquidity is already on Aerodrome?
You have three honest options: lock with UNCX and accept the percentage fee, migrate liquidity to a lockable Uniswap pool and explain the move before you make it, or stay unlocked and disclose it. Migration is the delicate one — moving liquidity looks like the thing locks exist to prevent, so announce the plan first, execute transparently, and lock immediately on arrival. Staying unlocked is survivable only with disclosure: an explained unlocked pool is a risk buyers can price; a discovered one is an exit signal. What doesn't work is silence in any direction.
FAQ
Does Aerodrome have a built-in LP lock for projects? No. Aerodrome's native locking is veAERO — locking the AERO token for governance power. It offers no mechanism for a project to time-lock its own LP position as a holder-facing trust signal.
Will Team Finance support Aerodrome locks? There's no committed timeline we can publish. This page is updated when that changes — the date stamp below is current as of August 2026.
Is UNCX safe for Aerodrome locks? UNCX is an established locker with a published OpenZeppelin audit of its v3 locker and public contracts. Evaluate its percentage-fee cost at your pool size and verify the lock on BaseScan like any other — the verification flow works for any locker.
Can I lock SlipStream (concentrated) positions? Not with Team Finance. Check UNCX's current documentation for SlipStream specifics — concentrated-position support varies by locker and changes; verify against their live docs rather than any comparison page, including ours.
