DogeOS: The Complete Guide to Dogecoin's App Layer

DogeOS is an EVM application layer for Dogecoin from the MyDoge wallet team, backed by a $6.9M seed led by Polychain. The Chikyū testnet is live. Mainnet is not, and no date has been announced.

What DogeOS is

Last verified: · By the TrustSwap Team

DogeOS is an EVM-compatible application layer built on top of Dogecoin by the team behind the MyDoge wallet, designed to let developers deploy smart contracts in an environment where DOGE is the gas token. It raised $6.9 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital in May 2025.

Right now it exists as a public testnet called Chikyū. There is no mainnet, there is no DogeOS token, and no date has been announced for either. Most pages that rank for "DogeOS" get at least one of those three facts wrong — the top result for "what is DogeOS" describes an unrelated open-source project while citing DogeOS's real funding round.

These fourteen guides are what we could verify against primary sources, with the date we verified each one. Where something is not documented, we say so rather than filling the gap.

FAQ

What is DogeOS?

An EVM-compatible application layer built on Dogecoin by the MyDoge wallet team, letting developers deploy smart contracts with DOGE as the gas token. It raised $6.9M led by Polychain Capital in May 2025.

Is DogeOS live?

The Chikyū testnet is live at chain ID 6281971. There is no mainnet and no announced launch date.

Does DogeOS have a token?

No. DogeOS has never announced a token or a TGE. Contracts trading under the DogeOS name are unaffiliated with the project.

Is there a DogeOS airdrop?

No airdrop has been announced. A points program called the Grand Heist exists, with a reward listed as TBA.

What is the DogeOS chain ID?

6281971 in decimal, 0x5fdaf3 in hexadecimal. That is the testnet; there is no mainnet chain ID.

Is DogeOS the same as Dogechain?

No. Dogechain is a separate, older proof-of-stake chain with its own DC token that bridges to DOGE rather than settling on Dogecoin.

Can I build on DogeOS now?

Yes, on testnet. It is EVM-compatible, so Hardhat, Foundry and standard Solidity tooling work with a config change.

When is DogeOS mainnet?

No date has been announced by any primary source. The documentation says the team is "diligently working towards a mainnet launch."

We did the same for Circle's chain — see the Arc hub.

TrustSwap is not affiliated with DogeOS, MyDoge or the Dogecoin Foundation. DogeOS has not announced a token; any asset trading under the DogeOS name is unaffiliated with the project.
